GIOVANNI MASELLI
began studying classical guitar at the Academy of music “L. Perosi” at Campobasso under A. De Rose, G. Pepicelli, L. Rubei, and W. Zanetti.
In 1999 he got a diploma in classical guitar with honours at the Academy of music “G. B. Martini” in Bologna under M° Eugenio Becherucci.
Besides, he followed the specialization courses of the greatest guitarists in the world: D. Russel, M. Seidel, B. Davezac, A. Diaz, A. Ponce.
In 2003 he was admitted attending the prestigious “Solo class” at the Musichochschule at Lucerne where he is specializing under M° Frank Bungarten.
At the same time he is engaged in a concert activity both as a soloist and in some chamber music’s formations such as the Eon Guitar Quartet, a guitar quartet, and a stable duo with a violin. He performs at home and abroad on the major stages (such as the Municipal Theatre in Bologna, the Music Institute “S. Marino”, the “Conzert Sall” at Lucerne and so on), and in the course of some important Festivals (for example the Guitar Festival at Brisighella and so forth). In 2001 he was invited to take part in a concert held in M° Alirio Diaz honour to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of M° Alirio Diaz’s concert activities together with his “historic” students. In 2002 he gave a very important concert at the “Real Colegio” in Spain by interpreting the “Fantasia para un Gentilhombre” by J. Rodrigo for guitar and orchestra conducted by M° J. Bernacer, one of the most promising Spanish conductors.
He usually works together with the greatest composers and conductors of his generation.
