Biography

He studied music at the Popular School of Bellas Artes, at the Las Rosas Conservatory and at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. He took some Master Classes in Cuba, Spain and France with musicians like Leo Brouwer, José Luis Rodrigo, David Russell, Jorge Cardoso to mention some of them.
He has performed recitals in the most important places around Michoacan State and around Mexican Republic.


At the international level, he has been involved in many festivals such as Cuba, Italy, France, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Turkey, Cyprus, Hungary, Spain, Germany, U.S.A., Czech Republic, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland.


Through out his musical career, he has received several awards such as:

1985 National Award in Paracho, Michoacan.
1987 National Award of the Guitar Contest of Guanajuato.
1988 y 1990 Twice scholar by the Government of Michoacan and by the
Santiago de Compostela University (Spain)
1998 Award for the Professional Achievements by the Morelia
University Rotary Club
1999 Award from the Hungarian Embassy in Mexico for the Cultural Exchange between the two countries
2000 Award José Tocavén Lavín for the Musical Achievement
given by La Voz de Michoacan Newspaper

 

He has recorded 2 CDs in Germany, “Paisaje Mexicano” and “Sonoridades”, supported by the Goverment of Michoacan.

He has founded and coordinated the International Guitar Festival of Morelia, Mich.
At the present moment, he is a guitar soloist of the Ministry of Education in Michoacan and he is also the Cultural Adviser of the Mayor´s Office of Morelia.

During 2005, he has planned to give more than 50 didactic recitals and more than 40 international concerts around Europe.
