The Italian guitar quartet Eon Guitar Quartet founded in 1999 by Giovanni Maselli and other great musicians of the region of north Italy. After several changes in the formation, in 2002 EON seattled with the actual members:M.Barbuti. R.Casagrande, G.Maselli, R. Tascini.

All graduated in italian Conservatories of music with full marks coming from the most various experiences in all the guitar and music fields from classical to electronic and pop music.

Eon Guitar Quartet is actually considered one of the Italy’s best chamber music ensemble and several composers had written for them.
M°Barbuti and M° Maselli also lead International Guitar Festival S.Filippo Neri in Bologna (ITALY) hosting through the years the most renewed guitar players around the wourld and the best new guitar generation’s players.

Eon Guitar Quartet has performed in some of the best festival and conecert halls all over the world as: AuditorioNacional Blas Galindo “Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra” Mexico City, Intarnacional Guitar Festival Turku- Finland, Festival Internazionale di Chitarra Campobasso-Italy etc., getting ever positive comments and reviews. EON GUITAR QUARTET first recordind is going to be released in 2006 spring.

 

GIOVANNI MASELLI

Began studying classical guitar at the Academy of music “L. Perosi” at Campobasso under A. De Rose, G. Pepicelli, L. Rubei, and W. Zanetti.
In 1999 he got a diploma in classical guitar with honours at the Academy of music “G. B. Martini” in Bologna under M° Eugenio Becherucci.


Besides, he followed the specialization courses of the greatest guitarists in the world: D. Russel, M. Seidel, B. Davezac, A. Diaz, A. Ponce.


In 2003 he was admitted attending the prestigious “Solo class” at the Musichochschule at Lucerne where he is specializing under M° Frank Bungarten.
At the same time he is engaged in a concert activity both as a soloist and in some chamber music’s formations such as the Eon Guitar Quartet, a guitar quartet, and a stable duo with a violin.

 

He performs at home and abroad on the major stages (such as the Municipal Theatre in Bologna, the Music Institute “S. Marino”, the “Conzert Sall” at Lucerne and so on), and in the course of some important Festivals (for example the Guitar Festival at Brisighella and so forth).

 

In 2001 he was invited to take part in a concert held in M° Alirio Diaz honour to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of M° Alirio Diaz’s concert activities together with his “historic” students. In 2002 he gave a very important concert at the “Real Colegio” in Spain by interpreting the “Fantasia para un Gentilhombre” by J. Rodrigo for guitar and orchestra conducted by M° J. Bernacer, one of the most promising Spanish conductors.


He usually works together with the greatest composers and conductors of his generation. Giovanni plays a guitar by the german lutier Gerard Schnabl.

 

 

ROBERTO TASCINI

 

was born in Porto San Giorgio in 1975,he began his studies of guitar very young.
In the sphere of Pop/Rock music he composed and recorded several passages winning several competitions; he improved himself playing with artists like Joe Pass and T. Lama.


When he was 15 he began his studies of classical guitar with M° G. Ficara and he graduated with the best grade and the distinction in 2000 with M° P.Antinori in the Public accademy of music "G.B.Pergolesi" in Fermo.
He has been working for some years as teacher and as concert artist in Italy and abroad.


He improved himself with very important teachers like A.Ponce, A.Diaz, F.Bungarten; he distinguished himself in prestigious national competitions (first prize in the national competition "Riviera etrusca").


In 2000 he took part at the recording of the CD " Ad Parnassum" by Euro Teodori and often works with new composer playing his pieces in first esecutions.


In March 2001 he graduated with the best grade and the distinction in Preservation of musical goods in Ravenna’s University with a thesis about the acoustic sound of the “dell' Aquila” Theatre in Fermo;now he is working in studying the acoustic sound of theatres and auditoriums around the Region.


In the 2005 he got the Concert Diploma in the Luzern University Of Music in Luzern (CH). He plays a guitar by the german lutier Gerard Schnabl.

 

MARIO BARBUTI


Was born at Salerno in 1976. He got a diploma in guitar at the Academy of music “Egidio Romualdo Duni” at Matera. He took part in some international Master classes and stages of specialization under the most important exponents of contemporary guitarism: Sergio and Odair Assad, Manuel Barrueco, Aniello Desiderio, Roland Dyens, David Russel.


He participated in numerous national and international competitions: in 1997 he won the first prize at the eleventh national competition “Gian Battista Pergolesi” in Naples, and in 1998 he carried off the third prize at the seventh international competition “Simone Salmaso” at Viareggio.


He has been taking a great interest in search of the connection between the guitar and the voice for years. In this circle he took care of many performances’ music conducting and direction put on by some well – known artists from Salerno and from Naples, and in 2001 he performed the poetical and musical concert “Salmi Guerrieri et Amorosi”, along with Ludovico Parenti, an actor and dramatist from Reggio Emilia.


In March 2006 he graduated with the best grade and the distinction in DAMS in Bologna's University. He is an author of a few musicological and ethmusicological reviews brought out on specialized cultural magazines, including “Musica insieme”, a Bolognese magazine.He periodically holds guitar laboratories at the secondary schools in Bologna.

 

RITA CASAGRANDE


Born in Bologna in 1978, studied with E. Becherucci at the “G. B. Martini” conservatoire of Bologna and graduated “cum laude” with full marks in classical guitar.


She later studied with M° P. Bonaguri, A. Ponce and R. Boucher.
At the Accademia di Perfezionamento “G. Regondi” of Bergamo, under maestros A. Dieci and B. Giuffredi’s, she received the Diploma of Merit Distinction as best permanent student, being awarded the recording of a Compact Disc under “Sinfonica” label of Milan.

 

She won numerous awards in national and international competitions, Fourth Prize in “Giulio Rospigliosi 2001” national competition; Third Prize in “Città di Voghera 2001” VI Guitar Festival; Third Prize in “F. Sor” international competition (2004), Second Prize (First Prize not awarded) in “Dino Caravita” (2002) XI national competition, First Prize in “Genova 2001” international competition of music execution.

 

At present she is cooperating with A. Morini and M° A. Guarnieri performing at important venues of contemporary music ( Teatro Comunale of Bologna; Losanne Konservatorium ).In 1999 together with violinist Silvia Tarozzi, she founded the “Per Due Voci” duo which explores a vast classical repertoire, as well as contemporary and folk music.


She has already performed in numerous concerts as solist and in chamber music ensembles.In November 2000, she performed at the Philharmonic Academy of Prague as guest of the conservatoire.Since 1997 she has been teaching at numerous musical schools in Bologna province.
